Market Research about Whisky?!

Question: Market Research about Whisky!?
Hello

I'm just doing a spot of market research for a university project!. Any replies shall be very much appreciated!.

We have been asked to create a new product for our whisky company (Tartan Spirit) and have decided to select a gift set featuring a miniture bottle of whisky, a whisky mix scented candle, and a form of chocolate with whisky!.

What I'd like to know is this:

First of all, Do you like these ideas for products!?
Would you consider buying the gift set!?

What fragrance, mixed with whisky, would you like in a candle!?
What type of chocolate would you prefer that contains whisky!? (eg, dark or milk, bar or truffles, etc!.)

Thank You!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

OH goddd when I saw this question i HAD to answer this :D

I love whiskey! And yes, I LOVE the idea of a candle!.!. I never knew that could be possible! You should definitely do the candle!. I want a gift set of that NOW!.!.!. :(
It should be a sweet whiskey scent though, not to strong which chokes your nose!. Something that's not overbearing, just adds a hint of fruity whiskey into the air :P

I would like something like strawberries mixed with whiskey!.!.!. not sure why!. It goes well together!.!.!. balances out the alcohol a bit!. Maybe tangerine/orange!.
Something soft like a flower scent would also work!. Whiskey sounds like it would go best with an underlying smooth tone!.

I prefer dark chocolate!.!.!. even better, TRUFFLES!.!.!. I love alcoholic truffles they just melt into your mouth like a gorgeous orgy!.

I would really buy that set if it existed, especially if it was paired with the right colours to look good (dark reds, deep colours that look rich warm and inviting)

ps: For someone who does a project on whiskey, you spelled whiskey wrong!. LOL

pps: I NEEED WHISKEY LOL curse you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

spoil good whisky with chocolate!? heresy!!!! make bourbon balls or something like!. Good whisky!.!.!.!.without the E!.!.!.!.needs no help!. how about a kilted action figure with a music chip that plays "The Scotsman" you know, that song that ends with "I dont know where ye been lad but I see youve won first prize" and raises his kilt at the end!? or a bottle cozy in various family plaids!. Mines Blue Ramsay!. or whiskey glasses engraved with clan crests!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I would!. I know many people that this gift would suit!.

I have a freebie for you!.!.I make the most amazing Whiskey fudge and everyone (even non-drinkers) have been hounding me for it!.

Contact me if you want the recipe!. I have made it with semi sweet and milk chocolate, but the milk seems to be the rave!.

Fragrance!? Why not chocolate fudge!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oak scented candle and dark chocolate would be my choices

Sushi, Depends on where the whiskey is made, how its spelled!. check the spelling north of the American border!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My honest answer is that you will probably only find a few very dedicated whiskey lovers that will buy this product!. So I guess it depends if you are targeting a specific or a wide market!.

1) Miniature bottle - good idea, many people like to collect these

2) whisky scented candle - the smell of whiskey is largely affected by the alcohol in it!. Take the alcoholic aroma out and it isn't that nice - just go to any distillery and ask to smell a sample of the washback (after distillation) - not very nice!. So I imagine it will be hard to replicate a true whiskey smelling candle!.!.!.and also, why would people want a whiskey candle when they get can get a wide variety of fruity or nature selections!.!.!.thats just my opinion!.

3) good idea - definitely dark chocolate!.

My suggestion is to take out the candle and instead, add a nice pair of whiskey tasting glasses - not the square ones, but proper tasting glasses - check out the 'Glencairn' whiskey glass as an example!. In my mind, that would be a truly complete whiskey package that I would love to buy!.
