It does but it has a colder freezing point than water!.
80 proof vodka will freeze at approximately -26!.95 °C or -16!.51 °F!.


100 proof vodka will freeze at approximately -40!.43 °C or -40!.78 °F

water freezes @ 32 F!. or 0 C

Alcohol freezes between 32f and -173f or 0 and -114c depending on Alcohol content!.!.!.!.

the average alcohol content of vodka is between 35% - 50%

so it would freeze @ about - 85 f ( 57c)

Becaues the freezer is not cold enough to freeze the alcohol, and the alcohol is distributed throughout the water!. It lowers the required temperature for freezing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The others above are correct!. Vodka does freeze, just at a lower temperature than what an ordinary freezer is set at!.

It does, however, get much thicker!. After being in a freezer it pours more slowly than a warm bottle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because of the high alcohol content!. Same thing will happen to hard liquor such as scotch, rum, brandy etc!. Not just vodka!Www@FoodAQ@Com
