Answers:
Grapes naturally have the right balance of properties (amount of sugar, acidity) to ferment on their own or with the addition of natural yeasts!. The fermentation is the chemical change of sugars into alcohol, thus is the process that changes grape juice into wine!.

Most other fruits do not have the same properties, and cannot be so easily fermented, including oranges!. The juices need to be tweaked by adding sugars, yeasts, and sometimes changing the acidity levels so fermentation can occur!. Since the fermentation process was only fairly recently understood on a scientific level, fruit wines are still fairly rare (and often undrinkable) while (grape) wine making has been experimented with for hundreds of years to get the results we have today, and scientific developments permitted to make enhance the final product (arguably)!.

Other products that ferment easily and have been used for hundreds of years to make alcohol include some grains like barley (beer), potatoes (vodka) and rice (ricewine or sake)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have never seen orange wine!. There are some great orange liquors but never saw an orange wine!. In fact, I have Cointreau and Blue Curacao in my liquor cabinet!.
