I just had a bad reaction to alcohol?!
I had a little bit of Captain Morgan spiced rum about an hour and a half ago!. Normally I can handle a little alcohol, but I had a really frightening reaction this time!. My legs started shaking, I felt light-headed, and I still feel slightly off balance even though I didn't even have a whole serving!.
It got better when I laid in hot water for awhile, but I'm still a little worried!. I started taking Valerian root and St!. John's wort a few days ago, and I'm worried they had something to do with it!. Should I be concerned or can I go to bed!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The exact same thing happened to me twice!. Once, I drank wine, and the other time it was just cocktail!. My entire body was shaking, my heart pounding, I'd try to relax, but there really wasn't anything I could do to make it better!.!.!. just wait it out!.
I am not sure what caused this to happen, especially considering I wasn't even drunk!. I think this is the same case with you!.!.!. just a little bit of alcohol gave a terrible reaction!.
In talking with some nurses at my job, I found it could have been heightened adrenaline from the alcohol, or it could have had an effect on the serotonin level in your body which in turn caused something similar to a panic attack!. Which, like you said, it feels like you had too much coffee!. Serotonin is the same drug in your body that makes you feel jittery from caffeine!. It's caused, by having something in your body that isn't normally there!. In this case, the alcohol gives your body a good feeling when it's first there, but as it leaves your system!.!.!.it makes you unbalanced!.!.!. which then causes you feel those symptoms (lightheadedness, shaky, etc)!.
My best advice to you that IT IS OKAY to go to sleep, and get some rest!. Obviously, being concerned is normal, but once you feel better, have stopped feeling those symptoms, you should be okay to get rest!. If you do wake up, and feel the same!.!.!. tell someone, or just have someone around with you just in case you wind up feeling more sick, or something!.
Hope you feel better!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
