Yeah, it can get confusing and it really depends on what you are reading/who you are talking to!.
In the United States a standard drink is 14 grams of alcohol, which is 0!.6 fl ounces!. I read this a lot for standard drinks:
12 ounces of beer about 5% abv (alcohol by volume)
5 ounces of wine at about 12% abv
1!.5 ounces of spirits at about 40% abv
So, theoretically, if you have a 10 ounce wine glass and you fill it up to the top, it is considered two drinks!.
Again, the scales are different depending on what country you are in!. Or I should say their definition is different!. As is the definition of a "healthy" amount of alcohol one can consume per week!. The United States says, I think, no more than 2 drinks a day and 14 in a week but not exceeding 3 in a given seating and in England I think it is 21 units per week and not exceeding 4 in a day!. Heck, Ireland it might be even higher! :-)
Edit: Sorry about that! It looks like a standard drink where you are in ml is as follows:
30ml of spirits (40%)
330ml of beer (4%)
100 ml of wine (12%)
overall a standard drink is 10 grams of pure alcohol
this site breaks it down pretty good
