Quite obviously I do not know your sister and cannot speak for her but here's my recomendation!.
First off stay clear of cheap liquors you'll ruin her birthday!. also it's never a good Idea to mix caffine with alchohal!.
try MALIBU AND SPRITE very simple light and not strong, tastes like sprite remix!.
BEEFEATER, GRAPEFRUIT JUICE, AND SPLASH OF CHERRY GRENADINE, delicious not to sweet and a bit more of a kick!. garnish with lime twist if you want her to really look up to you!.
VANILLA VODKA AND GINGER ALE!. I preffer absolut vanilla this is an all around enjoyable beverage and again very simple!.
PASSION FRUIT VODKA, SPLASH OF GRAPFRUIT JUICE, AND SQUEEZED LIME SLICE SHAKE WITH ICE!. you can either serve this as a shot or pour into glass and finish with sprite!.
just a few suggestions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For all you American critics, not every country's legal drinkng age is 21!. In Canada it is 19, and in one of it's provinces it is 18!. In Europe, in which this question is specified, it is around 16 that a person can start drinking in certain cases!.
Now in response to your answer, I would start her off with beer, vodka diluted with another non-alcholic drink at first, and perhaps some brandy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well officially none!.
If you are older than her then you can buy her alcohol and may remember what you liked at 18!. If you're younger, you can't buy it anyway!.
Buuuut!.!.!. if you are buying alcohol for an 18 year old (e!.g!. in Europe, so legal) then Baileys or cream-liquers are popular - personally not for me, but they are like desserts, they have a reasonable alcohol % but are not traditionally drunk in huge quantities because they are sweet and thick!.
Alco-pops (Smirnoff etc etc) are ok, but imo too high in sugar, and they put you at risk of drinking a bunch of them before feeling you have gotten drunk!.
But 18 was a few years ago for me, and i drank neat gin, so who am i to talk!.!.!.!. if its actually YOU whose about to turn 18, i;d really say (or say to your sis) never move off cider / beer and wine!. Hard liquor is pretty pathetic, and i wish in a way i'd never gotten used to drinking so much!.!.!.!.!. xWww@FoodAQ@Com

Obviously she is not old enough but I'm sure you know that already!. So to answer your question she would probably like something sweet and fruity!. So mixed drinks would be good!. Try mixing Vodka with different fruit juices or one of my favorites vodka and red bull!. She more than likely won't like the taste of beer!. Then there is always wine!. Try a white zinfandel!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
She's got to choose her favorite beer!.
She's got to develop a taste for wine!.
She should pick her liquor: Scotch is appropriate in the UK!. Gin too!.
Get familiar with a few mixed drinks: Cosmopolitans and Lemon Drops are popular with the ladies around here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why do you lot keep saying she's not old enough - we're talking about the UK here - where the legal drinking age is EIGHTEEN !
To answer the question - best to let her choose her own drinks - but steer clear of shorts if she's not used to them - far more potent than beer or lager !Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since you are in the UK and the drinking age is 18, I would suggest something celebratory like champagne!. Don't give your sister hard liquor at all though!. Just because she can legally drink doesn't mean that she needs to become a drunkard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm surprised not too many people are commenting on the fact that she is below the legal drinking age, depending on what country you are in, which you don't state!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Aything she wants!.!.!.!. as long as it's not too expensive
I personally would recommend alcopops (Bacardi Breezer, WKD etc) or cider!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
