children 13 or under cant make logical rational decisions for them selves they are oblivious to the world around them most kids are concerd with friends at school, talking and texting on the phone, and what to wear you have no experiance in life and cant even hold a job why on earth would a 13 year old be able to drink or marry if they cant even pay for things them selves, pay bills like a mortgae and also children are not aloud to make binding contracts so no marrageWww@FoodAQ@Com
People live much longer than they did in the past, when you were considered old if you got to 50!. This is reflected in English Common Law, which is alright in most situations but caught Colorado off guard!. For things they hadn't made specific laws about, Colorado deferred to English Common Law which is usually alright as a fallback position!. But when they tried to prosecute a man for having sex with a 14-year-old girl a few years back, he cited English Common Law which held because they hadn't made a specific law about age!. Under that old legal system, boys have to be 14 to consent and girls have to be 12!. The amazing thing is that so many people assumed that 18 was the legal age of consent that this wasn't a problem for over 125 years!. Colorado became a state in 1876!.

The draft for the Vietnam war changed this, with teens arguing that if you were old enough to fight you should be old enough to vote, so we got the 26th amendment to the constitution that lowered the voting age to 18!. Everything else went down, too--the right to sign contracts, marry, and for several states, drinking alcohol!.
I never agreed with this, and I was affected by that amendment!. I thought that they should have raised the killing age instead!. But I still drove to New Jersey on a camping trip with a buddy that summer so we could party in the bars!. And yes, we drank on the way back!. That was when a ticket was $35 and they told your parents!.
The drinking age was raised to 21 again after a few years because of the increasing highway death toll that resulted!. Everything else stayed at 18!. The reason it isn't lower is that the younger you are, the less able you are to make intelligent, informed life-changing decisions!. Recent research suggests that the early 20s is a more realistic age because the brain hasn't matured until then, plus a younger person has vastly more adolescent hormone-driven urges which shouldn't be used to make decisions that affect one's life for the next 60 years!. Until you are in your mid 20s and can look back on it, you don't realize how crazed those hormones make you!.

1) a child grows till the age of 18, and at the age of thirteen he/she has not grown fully hence can not take life time decisions of marriage!.
