It's a type of a beer bottle!.
Description: It is shaped like a square, the part you drink out of, is the regular type, its sticking on the top!.
It is on those old fashion kind of things, in the movies, they drink a small amount of beer that's like REALLY strong, then they have that cap that is hanging right onto the bottle to close it!.

it's an old fashioned cap, attached to the bottle and reusable!.
today you can get them again - at a higher cost than regular capped bottles!. the cap is usually porcelain and has a rubber gasket!. great for storing liquids!.
no idea about the US, but Grolsch beer comes in these bottles again!.
In Canada you can also get lemonade in such bottles - from France, no less: Efferve brand!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
