What are the best mid range brands of Scotch to buy!? What is the difference between single malt and whatever else!? What is the best age for a Scotch!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Single Malts come from a single cask!. Blended all come from different casks and are Blended together to get the best of the mixture!.

There's also Double Malt, which is 2 blended together in a certain ratio, and is apparently even better than Single Malt!.

A good Single Malt that isn't too pricey is Highland Park 12!. Keep in mind, this is "Not Too Pricey" as compared to other single malts!.

Age is a matter of the Scotch!. I've read reviews where whiskeys from the same distillery had good 10-years, better 30-years, and less good 16-years!.

Johnnie Walker Black Label is a good blended Scotch, but after trying the Highland Park, it's not as good as it used to be!. Single Malt is definitely better!.

Incidentally, skip the ice!. It just kills the flavor!. And never add ANYTHING to a Single Malt, except maybe a drop or two of water to open it up!. And skip the Single altogether until you know Scotch is your drink!.

Scotch Chix blog has a lot of reviews on various Single Malts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

18 years is a great semi affordable age!. a single malt comes from 1 distillery , not a blend of multiple distilleries!. auchentashun- lowland, springbank- cambleton, bowmore-islay and speyside and highlands have to many to listWww@FoodAQ@Com

Aberlour and Glenfarclas 12 year are less than 50 and quite tasty!Www@FoodAQ@Com

JOHNNY WALKER BLACK!

I need nothing else in my life if I have that everyday!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
