I have a Labatt brewery in my city so I know shipping isn't an issue!. Why are Canadians paying so much!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
part of it is also taxes (in Canada you pay both provincial and federal taxes, plus alcohol is taxed, as is just about everything) as opposed to in the U!.S!. where you just pay a state tax on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

canadian beer is a little more expensive but not that much more, i know this for sure because i travel to the states and drink and it's a little cheaper!. you may be confusing what a case of beer to americans consists of compared to what a case of beer in canada is considered (americans may think a case is 12, while canadians 24)
despite this, with the exchange rate, it seems like americans are paying less but theyre not because it's just different currencies!.
Canadian alcohol is also a little bit more expnsive because it is sold exclusively by the gouvernment in order to cover the costs of alcohol related deseases and accidents, as well as to pay for the privately run liquor and beer stores!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I believe it's because they pay a "luxury tax" on beer, wine and spirits -- a tax placed on products or services that are deemed to be unnecessary or non-essential!. Beer, Wine, and Liquor are taxed at different rates provincially and federally within the country!. IE beer in Vancouver is more expensive than beer in Calgary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Socialized healthcare has to be paid for somehow!. When you're in the hospital with cirrhosis of the liver you'll realize the good investment of that $40!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'll pay $100 a case if I have to because!.!.!.!.!."I AM CANADIAN" !!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because the American dollar is worth more than the Canadian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

forienge exchange rate the canadian dollar is soooo much less than the american dollarWww@FoodAQ@Com
