I am going to have a little party and want to serve wine!. I do not like the taste of alcohol and want to serve a nice wine that is good tasting!. Please help!. What kind of wine can I choose!? by the way I am going to have cheese with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
What I would do is stay "middle of the road" then!.!.!.

For Reds:

Rodney Strong Merlot
Castle Rock Pinot Noir
Buena Vista Pinot Noir
Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir

For Whites:
Robert Mondavi Pinot Grigio
Bogle Sauv Blanc
Bontera Vineyards Sauv Blanc
Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc

For cheeses, Port Salut (semi-soft white), Brie, mild cheddars, Monterrey Jack are good to serve with wine!.

None of the wines above are more than $20 and most are between $10 and $15!. One other excellent wine for the money is Menage a Trois - they make a good red blend and a white blend!. Your guests will like it and the name of the wine will break the ice! HA!

also, a decent wine store, if it's in your area is World Market!.

Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would have a selection of wines on hand!. A couple of dry (red or white), a couple of sweet (again red or white) and maybe a couple of rose or blush wines!. That way, those who like wine, can go for what they like!.

A good dry red would be Merlot!. Even one blended with blackberry is quite yummy!. A good dry white, would be either Chardonnay or Chablis!. (Chardonnay sometimes tastes oaky) These are good with the strong/sharp cheeses!.

A sweet red would be Fredonia and a sweet white would be Muscato!. Both of which go nice with mild cheeses!.

The rose and blush go with almost all cheeses!. You and your friends will have to make that distinction for yourself!.

It's all a matter of personal taste!. What ever you like, and what ever your friends like, are the wines to have!.

To drink or not drink is a personal thing!. If you don't like the taste, you might be better off!. Once hooked, it's tough to give it up!. Even for Lent!. (Yes, that will be my give up item this year) also, by not drinking, you'll probably be healthier and live longer than the rest of us!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would choose a light, fruity white and a soft, fruity red!. Some examples would be:

For whites:
Riesling
Sauvignon Blanc
Pinot Grigio

For reds:
Pinot Noir
Sangiovese (Chianti0
Tempranillo

Have a great party!.

get any kind for about $6-7 a bottle, mix it up, get red and white, most red wine is served at room temp, white is chilled before serving tho!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
