Answers:
Congress passed a law (USC 10, Section 2683), that mandates that military bases adopt the exact same drinking age as the state (or country) that the base is located in!.

Based on my experience though it's up to the base commander!. When I was stationed overseas at a location where the drinking age was lower than 21 we were still not allowed to drink because that is what the commander mandated!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO you cannot drink on a military base within the US if you are under 21!.

Drinking is not tolerated NOW at all if you are underage!.

If you are stationed overseas where the drinking age is 18 or 19 then you are ok!. You will still get into trouble if you drink and drive ANYWHERE!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not sure, but it's reasonable that a military base is not subject to specific laws of the State it's in, only Federal law, and military regulations, of course!.

If the base is out of the country - say, Germany - I think no problem at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, unless you are in country where the drinking age is under 21!.

Japan it's 20!. So you can legally drink at 20!. You see the signs in the shopettes that say must be 20 to buy alcohol!.!.!. it gets me every time!.!.!. i'm used to 21 too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not much of a debate!. The answer is Yes, or at least used to be!. Not in the mess hall, but certainly in the Officer's Club!. By jings we had some wild times during the war!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're old enough to kill people for your job, fly helicopters, and get killed for an abstract concept, why shouldn't you be allowed to drinkWww@FoodAQ@Com

It varies - if they're stationed overseas, yes, for the most part!. Stateside, its pretty much at the discretion of the base commander!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
