Wine experts of the world....?!
When people talk about wine, and say they can taste all these different things in there, like all types of fruit, and wood, and all sorts of other strange things; are they ACTUALLY in there!? Or is it just grapes, and they're talking bull****!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
No, they are not actually in there!. It's just that some things have complex flavors, and comparing these little elements of flavor to a food object that people are familiar with is the easiest way to describe what you're talking about!.
It's like if you've ever had a really dark chocolate bar and it had a slight coffee-esq taste to it, despite having no coffee in the chocolate; or an IPA that tasted a little like weed!.
It might make sense if some wine expert/snob/whatever describes tasting blackberries or oak or whatever (something that is similar to or actually found in the wine-making process)!. If they say something like, "It tastes like licking a rock that's been baking in the sun all day," it's your god-given duty to heap as much derision on that person as possible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wine does taste differently according to the region they are grown - the soils, the variety and quality of grapes, the way it is processed and matured does actually influence the taste of the wine!.

There are shops like Threshers/Sussex Wine who sometimes does free wine tasting in store for their customers and there are groups of wine enthusiast who get together to sample different type of wine at different locations!.!.!.

The wine is made from grapes!. There are, however, a lot of different types of grapes, grown in different soils and made in different methods!. Grapes have a very wide variety of flavor compounds found within them that allow different aromas and flavors to develop!.
But that said, these tend to be subtleties!. All wine tastes pretty much like wine, but the subtle differencies make a wine great or regular!. And it can take time to learn the subtle differences!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is far too much snobbery over wine!. There is just good wine and bad wine which is all made out of grapes and down to personal taste!. Drink any wine with any food you like served out of any receptacle!. Plonk is plonk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
