I was just hired as a bartender at a classy, upscale bar in the city (philly)!. Im excited!. I have next to no bartending experience( though I have "guest bartended" at another bar and I am enrolled in bartending classes)!. i will start training sometime, this week!. how long, on average, will i have to wait until i get to bartend during the good hours!? Oh and how much could i expect to make during the slower hours (while I'm still new)!? how much can i expect once i start working the busy hours!? we get paid in tips!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I cant get you a time frame, I would say its mostly based on seniority and dedication but about the response above!. 150$ on a busy shift is really low, even in smaller areas!. I would say if your good and especially if you work in a big area, a busy friday night or saturday night should bring 400-500+ (especially if your a female)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it depends on how high the turnover rate is at the bar!. are there a lot of bartenders that have been there for several years!? if so then you will probably have to wait a while!. u will be able to pick up shifts once you get acclimated to the system!. there is always going to be at least one or two bartenders who like to give up shifts!. find out who they are and keep their number on speed dial!. just call and ask for their shifts!. u will get quite a few!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

each establishment is different!. some you get to bar tend during busy hours once you are trained, others you have to wait for an opening!. the tips during each shift will vary per establishment too so it's hard to say!. during busy times, i am guessing but i think you should make 150 in tips in one night!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What's the place called!?

It does take some time to get the "good times!." You can help yourself by agreeing to pick up shifts for people when they need off or constantly being on call should someone call out!. Your dedication will show to upper management!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

all this varies by location

it could be weeks, months or years!.

as for how much, again, varies by location, ask one of the other bartenders how much they get!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
