I am going to agree with what the first two responses!. Your body's defense system created an association between the whiskey and the illness!. This was a functional thing so that when we try unknown foods, getting sick and not wanting to eat the food again makes you avoid repeatedly foods that are potentially poisonous!. Learning fast is a survival skill!.
You can retrain yourself to enjoy whiskey again!. I would agree that you may need to reintroduce whiskey slowly, in weak quantities to start with!. I would suggest going with the best quality that you can, and to start with very, very weak drinks, mixing it with stronger flavors (like coke) so that that is the dominant flavor!.
You may also just have to wait awhile!. I used to have a similar response to fake coconut flavor, and it took me awhile to get over it!. I actually didn't realize that I could have it again, until I unknowingly took a bite of something that had coconut and I didn't react poorly!. This unawarness likely helped, becuase if you know it is whiskey, your body is going to perpare to protect you by feeling sick!. If you don't give it the chance to react that way, you may beable to create new associations!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
