How common is it for an adult not to drink?!
Is it normal for a 23 year old college grad to not drink and not want to!? Am I the only one who sees that drinking isn't really necessary and doesn't really benefit anyone!? Or am I just crazy!? I mean I don't care if others drink, and I don't think anything bad of them, but I just don't see the point in doing it!. Am I in the extreme minority here!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Non-drinkers are a sizable minority!. Somewhere between a fourth and a third of the US population doesn't drink!. As far as benefits, many studies suggest a variety of health benefits from light to moderate drinking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Today it's more common!. Thirty years ago it was the in thing because there wasn't a whole of other things to do!. also, the laws were a lot more lax!. If you were pulled over while drinking and you weren't falling down drunk the cop usually escorted you home!. Today your butt would be in the slammer and you'd be looking forward to 3k - 5k in fines!.

I'm 23 and a college grad too, and now studying more!. I don't drink alcohol except once every 5 or 6 weeks!. And even then, I'd rather not, I just succumb to my friends' nagging!.
I've got some anxiety issues that alcohol aggravates!. I was a regular binge-drinker until last year!.
I don't really see myself returning to that lifestyle as it's so much nicer being sober and not waking up with a hangover! And I feel so much better about things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know how you feel!. I don't drink, had a hangover as a kid (drank from the wrong cup) and never quite got over it!.

no you're not crazy, but have you actually experienced being drunk before!? there is a point of drinking - it's really fun when you're in that "merry" mood!. and i mean VERY fun!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's very normal!. I have a lot of friends in their 20s who don't drink at all!. They still go out, have fun, and hang around us drinkers and nobody thinks anything of it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
