My school recieved pictures from my facebook, of underage drinking/?!

Question: My school recieved pictures from my facebook, of underage drinking/!?
So my school deans recieved 3 pictures in an email, that were from my facebook, and i know that whoever sent it in was not a teacher, because they cropped out other students in the picture!. In one picture it is just me making a funny face, in the 2nd picture there is a hookah in the back ground, but the dean called it a water bong (funny), but in the 3rd one its me standing next to the beer pong table and i have the ping pong ball in my hand, is there any way i can get in trouble for this!? It was a family party!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
If you were drinking with your parents!. then it's okay!. Plus, i'm sure you have the ORIGINAL picture!. lol!. it's funny how people are saying "you can't prove it now" when other people cropped it!. hmm!.

but yeah!. you're alright!. umm!.!. but be careful what you put on the internet!. people suck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

excuses:

It was photoshopped

you were playing beer pong with soda, or non-alcoholic beer

the "water bong" was just a science expirment, or if you are of legal age for smoking, it was just tobacco

pictures are not valid evidence, a video of say, you opening a obvious can/bottle of beer, and drinking would be!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are asked to explain the pictures, ask a member of the family to come with you so that you can have somebody to back you up!. Otherwise, you are not shown drinking, hookahs are as legal as cigarettes, and we all make funny faces!. Don't worry about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The most common punishment- they may remove you from any extra-caricular activities (i!.e!. sports teams, school-sponsored clubs, governments)!. Suspension!.!.!.less likely!. Expulsion!.!.!.very unlikely!.

Please know that your Facebook profile is public knowledge, and anything in there can and will be used (regardless if you make your profile "private" or not!.!.!.it can and will be easily viewed) by colleges, and more importantly!.!.!.employers (which I can tell you as the firm I work for routinely checks Facebook and other social networking profiles)!. Even if you delete the photos/comments/tweets!.!.!.it's so easy to pull that information (we do this because we want to make sure we're hiring the right people)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're just posing in the pics it shouldn't be an issue!. But if you drank while underage then yes you should be punished!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

drank alcohol underage (sometimes too much) and paid the price!. it is NOT cool folks !!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

explain your story in a(n) honest way!. just tell the truth if there was no wrong doing!. bring your family into the picture!. have them to tell the principle that it was a family altercation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only with your family if he/she reports it to them!. Otherwise, it is not a school related issue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you probaly could i hate how schools can take something like this that has nothing to do with school and still get you introuble for itWww@FoodAQ@Com

this is why facebook is stupidWww@FoodAQ@Com

Probably if he turns it in to the police!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you can!. Whether it was a family party or not (which I doubt, since you mention there were other students' faces cropped out of the photos), doesn't matter - it can't be proved at this point that they were taken at a family party!.

If you weren't holding a drink in any of the photos, you may not face any sort of legal action (but you may - I'm not a cop or a lawyer, and the beer pong table may be enough)!.

However, I hope you take this as a message that you should never post something on the internet that will get you into some sort of trouble in the future!. Once things are out there, people can save them, send them to others you don't want to see them, and come back to haunt you!. Most people drink underage at least once, but if you post anything on the internet, it can - and probably at some point will - come back to haunt you!. These things live forever!.

The other thing to consider is this: people on facebook can only see your photos and info if you're "friends" with them!. I would re-evaluate your friends to see who is likely to do something like this, and perhaps not be friends with them anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
