Do some people never drink alcohol?!
I've seen alcohol mess up so many lives (including mine because of my dad)!. I've never tried drinking or drugs, and I kind of never want to, even drinking when i'm 21!. Would that just be really, really strange!?

Well, of course!. But it all depends on your personality!. When young its easy to see alcohol and cigarettes as totally insane things to do but as we get older , especially towards high school and the college years, its very easy to rationalize partaking in them!. You will certainly face peer pressure and the amount will depend on the crowd you hang out with!. In moderation alcohol can be fine but depending on the type of person you are you might not be able to moderate!. Either way I assume you can lead a happy and fulfilling life without alcohol, as many people have!. To each their own!.
That being said, I had pretty much the same outlook as you at your age!. I thought people who smoked were disgusting and saw it as a character flaw and didn't care much for people who drank either!. But how soon we forget as we grow older!. By the end of high school I was drinking and partying every weekend and by the end of college I was a social alcoholic and cigarette smoker too!. some people will think it strange but plenty of people don't, my friend felix wont even hang around people that are drinking for long!. If your worried about it or just plain don't want to then don't and don't let people pressure you into it, there are even plenty of people that will admire you for your control!.

There are many people who feel the same way that you do that have seen it mess up the lives of someone around them and decide not to drink!. Muslims also believe it is bad for you and do not permit it religiously!. There are many out there like you!. Don't feel alone and most of a ll don't feel pressured!. If this is what you want all the more power to you!. you sound like a very intelligent young woman and i hope there are many more out there like you!. Alcohol is a drug!. Don't let it control your life!.

Some people don't drink due to religion, alcoholism in their family, etc and some don't do it just out of a personal choice!. You'll find that often many people that drink do have fun but they also make asses out of themselves, get in trouble, and can even cost themselves jobs/school opportunities!. I personally drink occasionally but I admire those that can go to parties and hang out with drinkers but still have fun!. Do what you feel is right, and if you don't drink you can still be a badass =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

But, I feel the need to mention that it's silly to blame alcohol for messing up peoples' lives when it's really people's actions that are to blame!. E!.G!. if you're a stupid irresponsible ****** that got drunk and got in the car and ran over some kids, those kids weren't a victim of alcohol - they were the victim of a stupid irresonsible ****** that belongs in jail!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!. Don't jump the gun!. When, at 15, I discovered my friend taking drugs, I was horrified and betrayed etc etc!. Next year, I was doing them!. I've seen this happen to other friends, too!.
2!. College kids drink!.!.!.a lot!. but not drinking is doable!. I'm 20 years old and in AA!. I don't plan on drinking ever again!. My boyfriend has never been drunk, and rarely drinks at all!. When he does, its under three beers!.
Coming from an alcoholic!.!.!.alcohol is a dangerous, dangerous drug!. Some people can drink and are fine!. Others go off the deep end like me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm glad you don't have any interest in it! I'm thirteen years old, and I have never seen any of my friends drink or smoke in my whole life!. Though, the temptation and peer pressure might drag you into it, but really, it's not a good thing to do!.

my husband is 40 and has never smoked a cigarette, done drugs and to the best of my knowledge never had more than 2 beers in his life time!.
Just doesn't like the taste or sense of loosing control!.
