Why do people put pieces of lime in their beer bottles?!

Question: Why do people put pieces of lime in their beer bottles!?
One of my pet hates!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Originally it was done to keep the flies out!. Corona encourages it to cover up the skunky taste that results from clear bottles and improper storage!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only ever seen this done with mexican beers, like modelo, corona, and dos equis!. Lime and a little salt seems to be tradition, and I think it compliments mexican beers really well!. I think it's because lime and a little salt compliment other mexican drinks (like micheladas and margaritas) as well as many of the foods!.

With other beers a piece of orange will sometimes compliment the taste - like with blue moon!.

I've seen lemons with some lighter heifeweizens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because they are rubbish "beers" and so the lime is the only quality thing in there!
The lime and the ice cold spin both do the same thing which is to mask the rotten taste of the chilled fizzy rice water that is passed off as beer!

This is obviously not required in real beers such as Fuller's ESB and Adnams Broadside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They must not want pellagra!.

Maybe you have the kind of personality conflict that is not uncommon between pets and their masters like there can exist between people!. Just continue to do your part as a master, maybe in time the pet will realize you are a good master!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree!. I never put lime or anything else in my beer!. Another thing I always do is pour my beer into a glass!. I like Corona, but I never use lime!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To mask the taste of the godawful lager they have been brainwashed into drinking instead of proper beer!Www@FoodAQ@Com

the acidity kills the taste of the beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i always tell people u dont drink beer for the taste!. u drink beer for the effects!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
