All fruit is great. Think of a beautiful pomegranate. Or a juicy peach. Or a banana you can carry around all day without putting it in a sack and then eat it. Or icy cold grapes on a hot day. Hmmmmm.
But no question in my mind - the best fruit overall is the APPLE. It comes in a zillion varieties, and all of them are a little different from the next.
You can make:
juice
jelly
butter
sauce
pie
turnovers
You can:
toss it in salad
cook it with pork
bake it
smear it with peanut butter
serve it with cheese

As American as.....a banana?! No way! Apples all the way!

blackberries or raspberries, their sweet slightly tangy, and pretty versatile plus they pair well with alot of sweet ingrediants, and their great with savory dishes like this one time I had made pork loin and served it with a blackberry lime sauce. So delicious, and yummy on their own too.

Yes, bananas are so versatile it's insane.
I do not have a favorite but banana is up there on my list, as well as strawberries, and pineapple.
:]

mangoes from Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). I had some when I visited France and they are better than any other kind of fruit. A close second: fresh peaches from Georgia (USA).

I think blue berries
You can make pan cakes, muffins, parfiats, put it on plain yogurt, or ice cream.
