You want to get an industry consultant and a lawyer because you have no skills to do this on your own. This immediately should alert you that you will need no less than three times the annual operation costs set as liquid assets. From this point you may begin the choice of locations or better finding an establishment that is for sale.

The easiest way is to find a bar business that is for sale. You also have to apply for the liquor license, that does not automatically pass on to just anyone. You fill out some forms, submit them, then you find out if they will give you the license, then you make a deal with the seller of the business. But you also want to see the bookkeeping from the business to see what kind of profit they are making.

You need an On Sale license to own a bar. To buy an existing bar with furnishings, inventory, equipment and license will take from $50,000 to millions, depending on the place.

First step, get at least $50,000.
