Leo is wrong. Grappa is not a wine, but it's made from the leftover stems, skins and seeds of wine (in this case, it's mostly from the Sangiovese grape). Those remaining bits are called pomace. The pomace is then distilled, usually twice, and water is added until the remaining spirit is about 40% alcohol.



It is a light dry wine from the Tuscany area.
