Yes it will, it's an alginate compound that slowly sinks to the bottom taking any debris and dead yeast with it, as long as the particles in your cider aren't pips or bits of apple it will work fine.
You can also use unflavored gelatin like Knox it helps keep the sediment on bottom while pouring.
