I have asked my friends to save some, but I know that it is going to be impossible for them to get all 2304.

Someone had about 25lbs of used caps on Seattle Craigslist, if you happen to be in that area.

I agree with contacting all the local bars. However you can also join your local freecycle.org group and ask for them. Everything posted on there must be totally free. You generally have to be able to pick up the item yourself, but some people will agree to drop it off if they're near your place or it's on their way to work or something. Why pay for something you can get for free? Also, if you're near a college campus, put an ad up on the dorm bulletin boards saying you'll pick them up after weekend parties.
