If it were me, I would replace them. And, jokingly tell your wine lover about your costly error and guilt trip. It will let him know you are considerate
helping yourself and inviting 3 couples over and all helping yourselves seem fairly different to me
likely this wine lover just expected you... or maybe you and your significant other.... but likely didn't expect you to wipe out his cellar with others.
i would feel bad.
You could replace what you used, especially if those were the only bottles of that wine. He'll never even know. How did you find out they were worth $100?
I'd buy my own wine from now on.
