Actually, beer does NOT hydrate you, and, in fact, they say that when you're exercising or engaging in strenuous sports, you should NOT drink beer when you're thirsty because it will actually DE-hydrate you further!!

It doesn't hydrate you. It's a diuretic, which means it makes you urinate more. When you urinate more, you lose bodily fluids. This is one of the reasons that drinking contributes to hangovers--the dehydration can make your head hurt.



In the actuality of it beer doesn't hydrate nearly enough though it's 95% water due to lingering effect of the alcohol.
