It makes you FEEL warm because it's a vasodilator. It opens up your veins in your extremities so that more blood flows to them, and you feel warmer. In reality though, you're venting a lot more heat and you can get hypothermic a lot faster. Your core temperature actually goes down.

In the very few times I have ever drank alcohol it has never made me warm. Always make me feel like I need to poop however. Lol
because it is one types of poison.
