I am having a glass of zinfandel before Church. Is that o.k.?!

Question: I am having a glass of zinfandel before Church. Is that o.k.?
I poured the coffee and then changed my mind.
The wine is so good.

Answers:

Hi Yadda yadda,

If you're catholic and are going to receive the Eucharist, no you should refrain from drinking wine and possibly eating anything heavy either. I don't eat anything prior to going to church, but afterward you're good-to-go!

I'm sure the official rules of the Church may vary amongst organizations, but I say -have your wine and enjoy yourself. At least you are making the effort to go to Church! I am Catholic and they have strict rules about eating an hour before, etc...but I sort of do my own thing these days. As long as the wine doesn't impair you in any way (with driving or staying alert in Church -and not making a fool of yourself -lol)...I think a glass of wine may be a fun way to start the day.

A bit early to be drinking? Unless this is an evening service.

Consider what you are doing. Seriously.

To me, it sounds like you are on the road to becoming an alcoholic. Family history of it? You may want to step in on an AA meeting.

Why not? People have mimosa's and bloody mary's for breakfast. A glass of wine isn't going to hurt and I remember when they used to give you a drink of wine at church with the body of christ thing.

Personal opinion.

I don't know, but, isn't alcohol considered a sin?
Alcohol is a hard drug, which many people don't know, so I guess you shouldn't.

Personal Decision.

Go with your gut.

No! You should avoid going to church. Read a science book instead.

That's perfectly fine

Cheers!

Being tipsy in church is the only way I can deal with it...amen to that sister
