Anyone else gonna become a raging drinker when you finally turn 21?!

Question: Anyone else gonna become a raging drinker when you finally turn 21?
I'm sick of this country and its drinking age. Why should I be allowed to be tried as an adult at 16, be drafted for war at 18, and not be able to even buy alcohol until I'm 21? Where did they come up with that? When I finally do turn 21, I'm gonna have to make up for all the times I was not able to buy liquor, or even be able to access a club or bar (even though girls only have to be 18 and still be allowed in)

Answers:

get a fake id or pull a hey mister at a sketchy gas station

It doesn't seem fair, does it? Well, at least to someone under 21.

The 'teenage' brain generally has more trouble with impulse control, risk taking behavior, and poor decision making than an adult brain. This is due to the limbic system often overriding the rational decisions of the slower reasoning prefrontal cortex.

As evidenced by, among other things, underage drinking.

By adding alcohol to this 'teenage' brain, it furthers the problems.

What you'll find when you become a raging drinker at 21, is the hangovers aren't worth it and it can become expensive. Instead of going into it full hilt, decide you'll have a few drinks and enjoy yourself once in awhile. If you have a little more or a little less, so be it.

Good luck.

It's questions like this that show why 21 is too late to allow adults to start drinking. In Canada, it's 18/19. In many countries, drinking beer is legal at 16. By allowing you to start drinking when you're still living with your parents, you can ease into it a bit so you don't just become a raging alky at 21. Those first few months after being legal are fun, but drinking casually/socially without blacking out and making a fool of yourself is way more enjoyable.

Just do it for a week then stop once you find how pathetic it is. Please do not drink till 21 while I agree 21 is an absolutely absurd age it is the law.

Sadly the law is not always there for a reason, my current preference would be a law for you to be 21 to buy alcohol and 16 to drink it.

Please do not be an idiot, any rational person can once sober figure out a responsible way to drink. Do not drink and drive and obey current laws if you think you hit your limit you have, stop drinking.

I didn't, and neither did anyone else I knew at the time who turned 21. Either they never got into alcohol at all (like me), or they went on drinking binges way before reaching 21, and were over it by the time they were legally able to drink. Frankly, if not for the ridiculously high legal drinking age, I don't think they'd have been so interested in alcohol in the first place!

I didn't become an alcoholic when I turned 21, anger is a sign of immaturity and why
the age should be increased.
Many bad things + very few good things happen when people drink to excess. I don't
recall there being a draft for the U.S. Army in almost 40 years, so I don't know where
you get your information from.

I am over 21 and rarely drink to excess.

I will buy tons of it when I'm 21 but for now I have my 21 year old friends get it for me! Girls get into clubs young cuz we have **** if you show up dressed like a slut and look pretty they let you in!

Here its 18, but since I started drinking a few years before that I didn't become a raging drinker when I actually reached the legal age.

When I turn 21 Im gonna go into a liquor store and clear the shelves I hope the cashier that day has got some strong arms cause hes gonna carry a $hit ton of bottles to my car ^_^

I thought the exact same thing at your age. I'm 50 now with cirrhosis of the liver and a shot pancreas.
Good luck.

He*l yeah I am lol!!! For sure!!!

Personal opinion :)

why wait til your 21!

hahaha in wales we start at like 13
