An ounce isn't really a small amount, that's generally the amount that makes the charge go from possession to possession with intent to distribute, but maybe you Canadians just smoke more. But I don't think getting charged for possession will keep you from crossing the border, as long as you go to your court hearing and everything and don't get a warrant on you. I bet though, that if you have a record like that, border patrol would search your car and what not.
