Recently i heard that from someone who heard from someone else that you can legally drink at 21 but you have to be older than that to buy it? is that true

Yep it's 21 to consume, but you can't really buy it till 24, so youre still going to have to find a boot. Shitty deal.

In Canada you have to be 19 to legally drink and buy alcohol
i would imagine in the states, yes you have to be 21 to drink so you'd have to be 21 to be able to buy booze*

But there are some countries where alcohol is illegal, so 16 year olds tired of
