Is a shot of liquor equal in alcohol content to a can/bottle of beer and a glass of wine?!

Question: Is a shot of liquor equal in alcohol content to a can/bottle of beer and a glass of wine?
I heard this somewhere and was wondering if it's true.

Answers:

The real answer is NO. However, it is a general rule that one shot, one beer, and one glass of wine are roughly equal. BUT that is only a VERY rough estimate, because generally wine has a higher alcohol content than beer by as much as 50% more or so. Also, beers can vary from 5% or less all the way to 12% and even higher. Also, liquors vary tremendously in content as well.

roughly, yes.

but your body absorbs alcohol more effectively from one drink than another, so it doesn't mean you get the same alcoholic effect from one shot of tequila and one bottle of beer.

To be precise, I assumed a shot (1oz) of liquor is about 40%,
A bottle (12oz) of beer about 4%
and a glass (120ml=4oz) of wine about 13%.

No because alcoholic content can vary tremendously within each of those products.

I don't know- I never drink just one shot or just one beer. I keep going until I can't remember the previous day :D

YES
