What age can you give chocolate?? ?!

Question: What age can you give chocolate?? ?
I have an 8 month old, and he has the very occasional white chocolate button but with Easter coming up etc when can you give brown milk chocolate?

Answers:

Yes my kids both did at that age... not in excess of course. But on easter a little piece will be ok.

Children under 2 should not be given strawberries or chocolate due to potential allergic reactions. Giving them these foods can cause allergies to develop, so please don't keep feeding a child one of these even if the child ate it previously without a problem.

True white chocolate would be fine, but many white chocolate products contain enough of the proteins from cacao that can develop allergies.

It may be cute to see your child enjoying such foods now, but if your child develops a chocolate allergy, it will be for life, and that isn't worth the risk.

Small quantity on 'high days and holidays'. Remember that chocolate is extremely high in calories, so excessive consumption can lead to weight gain, so should always be kept as an occasional treat. If you live in GB you could buy Cadbury's chocolate buttons, but I don't know if a similar confection is available in other countries.

You're asking strangers who don't have a license to dispense medical advice questions about your own child???

Really?

Ask your doctor. They went to school 7+ extra years after college so you can feel confident about the info you get

Chocolate? In my family we were all eating egg and chips at that age.
