Why Is It That Cigarettes Burn Whether Or Not They Are Smoked, but Cigars Don't?!

Question: Why Is It That Cigarettes Burn Whether Or Not They Are Smoked, but Cigars Don't?
If you light a cigarette and just put it down it will keep burining until it is gone.

If you put a cigar down, if it is not smoked in about 2 minutes it will die.

Why is this?

Answers:

The tobacco in a cigar is usually at the proper humidity for smoking, while cigarette tobacco is generally bone dry right from the pack. The majority of the cigarette smoking population has no idea how much more enjoyable a properly humidified cigarette would be.

If a cigar is allowed to become dry as kindling it will burn on its own, just like a cigarette.

Good luck.

Um actually the new fire safe cigarettes do not continue burning but the reason that cigars do not burn down is the tobacco is moist and it is rolled in thick leaf paper.
