Are you kidding? Up to about the early sixties, you kept the decanters right on your desk with an ice bucket! You offered a freakin' highball to every slob that stumbled in the door! And that's a constant flow of work related goodness. You carried a flask on your hip and you shared with strangers to celebrate the weather or to seal a big business deal, such as buying a pack of gum (cheers!).

We live in repressed annal times. We are so controlled we need to fill out forms in advance to piddle in a puddle. We are sooooo owned.

Fer crissakes, buy yourself a flask and pour out a toast the next time you're forced to stand next to a stranger. Have a three martini lunch and see if your stress level at work doesn't evaporate. THAT'S what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Alcohol has been an intrinsic part of our culture and society since the birth of civilisation but it's the way people drink now that has changed . People now drink for self gratification now much more than they did in the past .

Alcohol has always been part of culture, the only difference is nowadays women drink more than they used to and more and more people are binge drinking.
