On June 4, 1974, the Cleveland Indians had a great promotional idea. Offer their fans 8 ounces of Stroh’s Beer for just 10 cents.
Beofre this we need to go back to at least 1920's.

Well, in 1962 when I was old enough to go into a bar, (18) a bottle of beer was 25 cents, but you could buy a large glass of tap beer for only 15 cents, you could play 3 songs on the juke box for a nickle. gas was 21 cents a gallon, A pack of smokes was 20 cents. you could go to the store and buy $15.00 of food and it would take you two trips to carry all the bags into the house from the car. A brand new chevy car sold for $2,800.00 and that was loaded. A hair cut was $1.50. But remember minim wage was $1.15 per hour. I paid $35.00 per month for rent on a 2 bedroom house. I worked 60 hours a week, (No overtime) and was broke payday to payday, just like everyone is today. hope this helped you a little bit. Bye

I'm not old enough to answer that although when i was 12 we went to mexico and the beer was 10 cents. By the way I am not young now so it must have been back in the 30's or 40's in the USA cause I've never seen it.
