Will storing Rum at room temp after it has been kept in the freezer ruin the flavor?!

Question: Will storing Rum at room temp after it has been kept in the freezer ruin the flavor?
A friend of mine gave me a bottle of my favorite liquor (Captain Morgain Private Stock). I usually store mine at room temp. But he had it kept in the freezer. I tried it, but it seems like the extreme cold takes away some of the flavor. So, my question is, if I take it out of the freezer, and store it the way I like, will thathave an effect on the flavore or the viscocity of the rum?

It can but is unlikely with a rum of its stature. Chilling a rum or an alcohol does not have much, if any, negative effect toward its flavor profile but it better to not freeze them to be sure. The reduction in the flavor you have experienced is due to a numbing sensation to your tastes buds which reduces their ability to detect (transfer) the flavor signals.

Room temperature will allow the full flavor of the rum to be realized its viscosity will also be reduced.

For Captain Morgan - the taste won't deteriorate in different temp.

really cold foods will not reveal the flavor - although there are drinks that are very excellent when they are really cold.

I don think products like Captain Morgan needed to be valued
