Is it weird that I have never tried drinking alcohol?!

Question: Is it weird that I have never tried drinking alcohol?
So I am 15 years old and going to be 16 very soon. First of all, please don't say you shouldn't be even drinking because I am underage age and what not. I have previously considered TRYING drinking just for experimental purposes, trying something new and have the feeling of a rebel. I don't want to get drunk or turn into an alcholoic, i am just curious over the taste and I would like to know what everyone is so crazy about. Lets just say I am a good girl who never gets into trouble and I get good grades. I am considered a nerd even though I don't really look like one. I am also very athletic. I've been to a few parties with alcohol but never tried it once. Whenever I get the opportunity I don't do it. What advice can you guys give me?

What the government and your schools aren't telling you is that cannabis is actually a safer substance than alcohol. Not really relevant to your question, but it's a fact you should know.

Trying won't harm you, alcohol isn't bad for you boddy you need to know that. Only if you drink to much or at Wrong time. But not drinking alcohol at parties or with friends eventhrough you're 18 isn't stranger. Bot only like 5% - 10% do it that way but at the and of the day it turns out to be the best for them. But drinking somtimes is 100% ok , just be carefull with it :) Hope I Helped

Well, first off, it's not weird. You're not missing much. I tried it many times and I look back now and think about what a waste it was. Waste of time, waste of money, waste of taste buds. :]

just drink little bit if you are trying it for first time nd drink it slowly so you dont really get messed up

Well young lady, I'm glad you care enough to not want to be an alkie and you care about school and your grades. Good for you and I'd say kudos to you for that.

On the alcoholic part though, you must know as someone who has first hand experience with that and life, that alcohol is no respecter of age, status, personality, occupation, gender, smart, dumb, congressman, janitor, lawyer, doctor, rich, poor, it just sneaks up on you and once you cross that invisible line, you're never the same. So be careful about that.

I know about being a teen and wanting the thrill and power to rebel and stand up for your rights. It feels pretty good and fun to do daring stuff. Unfortunately, with that type of daring stuff comes a very painful and heavy price. A price that will set the mark and basis of what direction your life will be influenced by. I don't mean to imply that you're going to be an alcoholic or that you're life will automatically become disaster. But everything you do as a teenager is going to impact and influence in some sort of way what your living habits are like and how successful and happy you are able and willing to achieve. You're identity of who you are and how you feel about yourself and understand the real you along with your coping skills and type of character you will adopt as your identity.

Choose wisely while you're still young and it's less challenging. If boozing it up sounds like a great idea then have fun and make sure you drink an shot of Tequila for me too.

If you do decide to drink, the best thing to do is stick to ONE alcohol (beer, vodka, wine, tequila or whatever). Also if you're making your own drink (instead of wine, beer or premixed drinks) always put the same amount of alcohol in each drink you have for example a shot/30 mls topped up with coke or something. Or just have the shot.
What you should do is have a drink, wait maybe 30 minutes or so, if you feel okay you can have another. And always wait a bit to see how you feel before having another. (Don't play drinking games either, they're dangerous !) YOU SHOULD STOP WHEN YOU FEEL GOOD, coz getting drunk sick is pretty horrible.
Also make sure you eat something before drinking and during the night and drink some water.
make sure there's someone you trust with you just incase and HAVE FUN but don't do anything too stupid ;)

Where do you life? If you life in America, you may not drink alcohol until you're 21. In holland you're allowed when you are 16, but when the drink has >12% alcohol in it you must be 18.
I am 16 and life in holland, and started having some beers about 3 month's before I was 16. If you life in America, I'd suggest you wait with it.
It is all up to you, do what you feel good at. You're friends won't mind, I know that.
First time don't go above the 2-3 Beers, and wine will get you drunk quicker.
If you want to drink but don't want your parent's to know, i'd suggest you do this:

1. erase history of browser of the computer (At least Yahoo. If they find this you're screwed ;))
2. Don't go over 2-3 beers. The second time i drunk I went to 12 beers. Apparently i could easily handle it, but that won't do for everybody, I know that.
3. Check the % of alcohol in a beer. In holland it has 5% average, up to 11,9%
4. If you want to drink alcohol, but not wanna drink alcohol, the answer is alcohol free beer :)
It contains up to 0,5% alcohol. Jippie-a-yee, you need like 10 of those to come on 1, and need 120 of those the come to my 12. It won't get you drunk quick I promise :)

Brain.

Drinking isn't bad, getting drunk is bad >.< well I'm 14 i have drank before but it is stupid man a waste lol it does not taste good, isnt good for you, and makes you act stupid! haha what a coincidence I'm great in school considered a nerd but I look nothing like onee haha and I'm an athlete;] if it's bugging you so much see for yourself just taste it! I drank because of my family, they let me taste it they pressure me more than my friends haha but their prespective is if I'm gonna be curious and taste it anyways might as well be with them;)

good luck person;]
