Is it safe to drink ?!

Question: Is it safe to drink ?
I wish to know if it is safe to drink expired canned beer. I know for wine, the older the wine, the quality gets better but what about canned beer ? Any negative implications on our health ?
thanks

That's not an expiration date. It's a "born on" date. It was the day that beer was bottled. Your beer should taste good up to 120 days after it's bottled/canned. Unless it has been subjected to a lot of light(not to worry if it's in a can) and heat.

Ok lets start with 1) the error in the question, and then move on to 2) the errors in other answers, and then give 3) my own answer

1) Most wine does NOT get better as it ages, other than in the first year or two - Most that still improve only improve for another couple of years after that, and it is only a tiny minority that can be aged for more than 4 or 5 years

2) Someone has claimed that it is not an expiration date on a can, but a "born on" date - Only a few US breweries use "born on" dates, the rest use "best before" or "use by" dates so without knowing what beer it is no one can say what the date means

Several others have claimed that out of date food will make you ill, this is not true. As long as the can is intact the food can stay good for years. The "best before" and use by" are there to cover the manufacturer from legal action if someone does store a product badly for a while and then eats it. In fact you can legally sell food that is over its "use by" date as long as you clearly indicate this at the point of sale.

3) This all depends on the beer, the preservatives in it, and how it has been stored.

A strong beer will last for longer than a weak one.

A heavily hopped beer will last longer than an unhopped one.

One that has been stored in a cool place will last longer than one that has been in the warm, or even worse in wildly changing temperatures.

Canned beers are generally not suitable for long ageing.

As long as the beer is not too far from the data on it it would be fine, but may be a bit flat, and taste a bit metallic (this is not from the can, but from reactions that will have taken place in the beer)

um yes it is but it won't taste the same it will taste alot diffrent.

Recommends that you do not drink out of date food! so as not to give physical discomfort!

It may be harmful for your health

No canned beer is the worst when expired

I don't know if its unsafe but it tastes horrible
