Also, what's the difference between weed and marijuana? I know I've smoked bud but what is it a term for?

Marijuana is the common name for two cannabis plants. Weed is a slang term for it, noting its prolific growing. Bud is a slang term for the budding flowers, the part that is generally smoked.

marijuana refers to the entire plant which is not 100% smokeable. What you actually smoke is the buds that grow on the plant itself.

Bud, weed, and marijuana are all the same thing, they are just different names.

bud -> weed -> marijuana -> ganja
ALL THE SAME THING!

Bud is marijuana (referring to the psychoactive buds of the flower).

bud is an interchange word for weed.
