What is a good tobacco pipe for beginner pipe smokers?!

Question: What is a good tobacco pipe for beginner pipe smokers?
A friend gave me a (what seems to be) plastic-like tobacco pipe. It works OK but I'm looking for a pipe that has a bigger bowl. I'm probably doing something wrong here but that's why I'm asking questions. The pipe will not, no matter what I try, stay lit. Plus it takes about 5 minutes and its done anyway. I love smoking a pipe. Its relaxing. Help please!

Answers:

First don't get frustrated, it takes a lot of time and patience to smoke a pipe. Pipe smoking is a great hobby to do. A corn cob pipe is a good beginner pipe, but you should also get a briar pipe as well. A good site to get pipes at is www.pipesandcigars.com Some good brands are stanwell, savinelli, and for a corn cob pipe missouri meerschaum. Go ahead and pm me if you have further questions about smoking a pipe or what pipe to get. I have also included a site to give you a little further instruction on how to smoke a pipe.

me, I smoke a pipe.

I have to agree with Vic. Get yourself a cob pipe and you will be happy. They smoke very well and you don't have to worry about breaking them or building up a cake in them.
