Question: What's the best make shisha/hookah tobacco out there?
Hi I came off holiday from turkey in October with serbetli and I loved it but cannot find a shop online that sell it well they do but not the ones I'm looking for after I run out I bought soex but all the tobacco I bought the tobaccos red mint coke vanilla etc but the serbetli the mint was green cuppachino was coffee colour black grape purple just wanted to know is there a better make on the Market than soex and serbetli

Answers:

Is there something better than Soex? Everything. Soex herbal tastes like they dipped the sugar cane in antifreeze before making the shisha. I won't touch Soex every again especially if I want Herbal I have Hydro, Saalaam, and El Rosha to choose from. If you like the flavor when you can find it just get their tobacco brand, Afzal.

Sebetli is good. It's hard to get in the states, but everything I have tried is good. Nothing rocked my world but it's good.

My Top 5 brands (I put them all above Serbetli)
Tangiers - Melon Blend is beyond good
Romman - Ivory Coast is my favorite shisha ever
Nakhla - Mizo Guava is the best guava ever
Fumari - Island Papaya is incredible
Social Smoke - Tiger's Blood is mouth watering goodness

As far as the color, it's just a food dye. I can only think of one company that doesn't, Tangiers. Cheaper brands will dye the tobacco red or other colors, while most higher end tobaccos use yellow (golden). It's a presentation technique to make sure all the tobacco looks uniform and the same color. Various leaves from the same crop can be darker or lighter in color, this just makes it look better. Only reason they do it. Red however is most common because a long time ago Corn Syrup use to be a primary ingredient in shisha (very few do now) but cheap food grade corn syrup is died red. So a lot of companies that used it previously now still use red dye so the look of their shisha has never changed.
