From what I have heard it bubbles steadily but not vigorously. It is more like a wine fermentation than a beer fermentation. Allow it to continue for at least a 10 days. You can take readings to monitor its progress.
Hi,
If you used a 24 hr turbo, it is probably finished.
The best way to check is to taste a little bit, if it tastes sweet then it has failed to complete.
You will then have to dilute your mash and dose with a regular yeast, because regular yeasts cannot cope with high sugar levels.
My money is on finished though, turbo yeasts are pretty reliable, the bubbles you get when you shake it are not an indication of fermentation, just a bit of leftover CO2.
They are very vigorous when the start, and then stop very quickly.
3 things off hand:
1.) add a small amount of food grade urea, turbo yeast need other fuels besides the sugars in what you want to ferment to catalyze up to peak performance.
2.) Did you wake up the turbo yeast in warm water first or just dump dry yeast into the mash? If you just dumped dry powder and have some more yeast left, dissolve yeast in very warm water (not boiling, cool enough to the touch) with a little white sugar for 20-30 mins or til you start to see a little activity, then dump into the mash.
3,) Make sure you allow for larger than average venting holes. Tiny openings on the top will not release pressure fast enough and it will blow up.

the airlock should bubble regularly until its done fermenting
