But just to get you started, and because I'll probably have to revise this soon, some basic facts: Alcohol is a depressant. Long term use can lead to cirrhosis of the liver (liver tissue gets damaged and healthy tissue replaced with fatty tissue), brain damage, kidney damage and low immune system. Short term effects are dilated blood vessels, slow transmission across synapses.
But that's being generous. If you're doing it for school you should use your textbook..
