maybe, Because cider is naturally yellow,
so they must put some chemicals in it to turn it white.

Or they add chemicals to make it taste better, and get
rid of the natural cider flavouring, to make a better one?

If that means home-made cider, it is probably too young. When primary fermentation finishes at about 3 weeks, the sugar converts to ethol alcohol. That leaves malic acid in the juice (now cider). Malic acid is harsh and takes many months to convert to lactic acid which tastes better.
Also, I've noticed with Montrachet yeast a funny chemical smell in my home-made stuff.

If you smell sulfur, don't drink it. It may have suflur dioxide which comes from improper and mutated yeast fermentation. Its a bit toxic. It is mediciny, wait another 3 months.

That shite is for drunks.
god knows whats in it.
