Yeah they do.

Just like many bottles of Mezcal have a "worm" (actually a moth larva) in the bottle. One company even puts a scorpion into its bottles. I can most certainly say that it's a gimmick in Mexico. Not sure of the history of the snake wine in Vietnam

There are different variations across Asia. I know china has a wine that has a snake preserved in it, and there's restaurants in Vietnam that serve up snake dishes as a specialty, where you drink the bile of the snake, as well as downing the heart with a type of wine (preferably while it's still beating)
