What's a "standard" drink? Is that an Americanism I've not seen before, or just being vague?

Give or take, it'll take about an hour for your body to process 10ml of pure alcohol. So if your "standard" drink is a pint of strong lager say, you're looking at about 15 hours for your five standard drinks to be completely out of your system.

Depends more on your gender, metabolism, how often you drink. The only people
who can accurately determine that are doctors, and people administering the test
you seem worried about. When in doubt, don't drink and you won't be preoccupied.
