That's a pretty broad question; the 'best' depends on your criteria. The link below lists the winners of the 2010 Great American Beer Festival. Pick a style, try the winner, it's probably a pretty good beer.

It really depends where are located because most microbreweries don't distribute across all the states. If you are on the west coast check out any beers made by Russian River, The Burery, Lost Abbey, Green Flash, Deschutes, and Stone. If you live in the mid-west check out any beer from Goose Island, Founders, Bells, Three Floyds, Surly, and New Glarus. If you live on the east coast check out any beer from Captin Lawrence, Brooklyn Brewing, Victory, Troegs, Terrapin, and Cigar City.

Honestly if you look around where you live I bet you will find some great local craft beer. In my sources is a website that is dedicated to promoting good craft beer from around the country/world.

Depends on where you are. If you are in Atlanta get a Sweetwater 420 or a Terrapin. Those are both local microbrews that are excellent.

I think the best beer i have ever found in the US is Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
