Where did Hard Cider originate and how is it made?!

Question: Where did Hard Cider originate and how is it made?
I have found my "adult" drink and it is Woodchuck hard cider. I love it. Tastes like...........apple juice with a sparkle and a kick. So much better than beer. There is a "Winter" version that adds spices to it, an "Amber" version that is very sweet and taste just like apple juice, even a "Granny Smith Apple" version that is tart.
Where did hard cider originate and how is it made? I want to know more about it. It beats any conventional beer.

There's a Wikipedia article on hard cider:

And here's a link to the Frequently Asked Questions page on the Woodchuck Hard Cider website:

It does sound good!

It was invented mostly by Europeans interested in drinking apple juice, strangely enough, and is popular all over the Western world. Probably cave men 'invented' it.
You'll find a great article about it here ::
