Wine and champagne always tast like sugar to me?!

Question: Wine and champagne always tast like sugar to me?
I can't stand it - it's like drinking a corn syrup mixed with sugar and water.
Or eating a sugar candy bar.

Are there wines that don't contain so much sugar?
A specific brand.
Willing to spend no more than $8 a bottle - we're cheap.

Answers:

some wines are sweet
some wines are dry

your best bet would be to look for dry wines
reds generally are more dry then whites
a couple common more dry reds would be:
cabernet
merlot

for champagnes, look for is extra brut, which is more dry than others

umm,
maybe you just don't like wine,
i didn't for years only ever drank it watered down.
Now i love it.
